Laced With Love Baby Blanket - My Favorite Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern (plus a matching Scallops Beanie)

This is my favorite blanket to crochet to give to everyone I know having a baby. I used this pattern 6 times, in all different colors and it always gets an awesome response. The creator of the pattern made a very easy and helpful set of instructions- easily one of the most understandable patterns I have used. I found it via Ravelry.com. If you crochet or knit- Ravelry is the place to be to find ANY pattern you may need or want. You can search a million different ways. You can search by yarn weight, hook size, free, to purchase, by item, size, gender, etc.

Back to the blanket- It is designed by Julie Barber and is called The Laced With Love Baby Blanket and costs only $3.50 and is worth every penny. You can buy it Here (on Etsy).

I have tried this pattern with several different types of yarn in Worsted (9 wpi) Weight and Sport and have not had an issue with any.

Some personal notes on this blanket crochet pattern that helped me after making many of them:
  1. Just take note- for the blanket, make sure you end the repeated pattern on the correct row that is listed in the pattern (ending on an even-numbered row- the beginning tail of yarn will be on your right). If you don’t, the edging will be loose.
  2. In 'Final Row 1', with the Main Color, instead of chaining 6 times, I only chain 5- I still skip 6 stitches though. For some reason when I chain 6, it becomes a little too loose for my liking. Depending on how loose or tight your stitches are, this may or may not be the case for you.

***I also found a pattern (Scallops and Holes Beanie by Crochet My Love Designs) for a hat that matches the blanket’s pattern. For this hat I made my own flower. Both patterns are very easy. You can buy it for $3.00 Here (via Etsy).
